LITCHFIELD, AZ - Authorities are asking for the public's help locating a vehicle involved in a serious hit and run accident in the west Valley this week.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said a Kawasaki motorcycle was hit from behind when entering a construction zone on Litchfield Road north of Northern Avenue around 5:45 p.m. Thursday.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital and remained there Saturday, according to MCSO spokesman Jeff Sprong.

The suspect vehicle, reportedly driven by a male, fled the scene.

Sprong said witnesses described the vehicle as silver or gray and parts recovered from the scene by investigators are from the "air dam", radiator support and front bumper of a 2005-2007 Nissan 350Z.

Damage to the vehicle will be focused on the right corner and continue back onto the hood and possibly the windshield, Sprong said.

The suspect vehicle may also have a license plate starting with the letters "AH".

Sprong said anyone with information should contact the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office at 602-876-1011.
