LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ - Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Monday at a Litchfield Park home after finding a bag with crystal meth, heroin, two guns and a large sum of money near a group of trash bins.
According to MCSO, they had been investigating reports of a suspicious person in the area who had jumped a wall into a nearby resident's backyard when they found the bag.
Deputies seized 1.5 pounds of crystal meth, .82 pounds of heroin, $20,000 cash, an AR-15 assault rifle with a loaded high-capacity magazine and a loaded .40 caliber handgun, according to a news release.
Two framed photos of a man and children were also found inside the bag.
Witnesses saw the suspect near the trash bins where the bag was found and he matched the physical appearance of the man in the photos.
The suspect, identified as Abraham Ortega-Leyva, was found while trying to flee a residence.
Leyva was taken into custody and admitted to being in the United States illegally, one of the numerous felony charges he is now facing.
