LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, AZ - A 29-year-old active-duty staff sergeant stationed at Luke Air Force base was killed in an off-base motorcycle accident early Saturday morning.

He was assigned to the 56th Communications Squadron, according to Luke AFB.

"We're deeply saddened by this loss," said Brig. Gen. JD Harris, 56th Fighter Wing commander. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Our focus is on supporting them as they go through the grieving process."

His name is being withheld until 24 hours after notification of next of kin, and details for a memorial service are being coordinated.
