LAVEEN, AZ - Police have identified a woman who died Monday night after a house fire in Laveen.

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said 41-year-old Shannon Flood was found by her husband on the floor of their home near 57th and Southern avenues when he returned home from work around 5:30 p.m.

Flood's husband called 911 to report his home was on fire and pulled his wife outside. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire personnel.

Fire officials believe the fire was a slow smoldering fire which may have originated near an electrical outlet, according to Martos.

The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of Flood's death.
