Hispanic activists tell ABC15 the Maricopa County Sheriff''s Office is planning a crime sweep in southwest Phoenix Friday.
Activist Lydia Guzman said her group is lining up legal teams in case of harassment.
ABC15 reached out to the MCSO, but they did not any release details saying only, "We can confirm there will be an operation."
The sweep is expected to happen in southwest Phoenix in the Tolleson or Laveen area, the same area where detention officer Jorge Vargas was gunned down by a teenager.
Guzman said she believes deputies are going after affiliated gangs.
