GOODYEAR, AZ - A Goodyear man has been arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting his foster son.
Tempe Police Lieutenant Scott Smith said 49-year-old Michael David White was taken into custody Tuesday in connection with an ongoing sexual assault investigation by Tempe police.
Police said on July 22, an adult male contacted police saying he had been sexually assaulted by his foster father when he was a child.
Tempe police told ABC15 they investigated the claim and found additional evidence to support the man's claims.
Police arrested White during a traffic stop. They believe the abuse happened while the victim lived with White at his home in Phoenix and possibly a home in Goodyear where White lives now.
Police said White was a school social worker at Tolleson High School for over 15 years and is currently employed by the City of Tolleson in the Community Services Department where he works with the youth and elderly.
White has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual conduct with a minor. Smith said additional charges may follow. White is currently being held without bond at the 4th Avenue Jail.
Police believe there may be additional victims.
