PD: Goodyear police officer spots wreckage on Estrella Parkway with 1 dead, 1 hurt

GOODYEAR, AZ - Authorities say a Goodyear police officer spotted wreckage early Friday morning where a person was dead and another was injured.
Police said it appears that a single vehicle was involved in a collision on Estrella Parkway at the Salt River Bridge.
The Goodyear officer happened to drive through the wreckage around 1 a.m. and called for help.
Estrella Parkway was shut down in both directions as authorities sifted through the scene.
The cause is unknown at this time.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
