GOODYEAR, AZ - Worried parents packed Western Sky Middle School hoping to hear something other than the reality: major budget cuts are coming.
The Litchfield Elementary School District needs to cut about $1.6 million from next year’s budget.
Part of the cuts include reducing staff and salaries as well as cutting back on school supplies.
“It’s going to bring down [test] scores,” said one parent, Kerry Scherting.
The district said cuts are never easy and that’s why they’re asking for input.
The district has a full list of the cuts on its website .
