GOODYEAR, AZ - Goodyear police arrested a man Wednesday morning on suspicion of assaulting his wife.
According to the Goodyear Police Department, officers responded to a home near McDowell Road and Pebble Creek Parkway around 8 a.m. for a medical call.
At the home, police found Melvin Eugene Heath, 68, and his 61-year-old wife in a "domestic situation."
Police said the woman was severely injured and taken to St. Joe’s hospital in Phoenix. She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Barrows.
Eugene was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault.
