GOODYEAR, AZ - Four schools in Goodyear were put on lockdown Thursday while police searched for a suspect with felony warrants who still has not been located, police said.
Arizona State Gang Task Force officers pursued the suspect, a documented gang member, in the area of Dysart Road and Encanto Boulevard around 1:10 p.m. when he jumped a wall and evaded them.
As a precaution, Palm Valley Elementary, St. Thomas Aquinas, Le Petite Academy and Tutor Time were all placed on lockdown, police said.
Goodyear police searched the area with K9 units and a helicopter but weren’t able to locate him.
The schools were taken off lockdown at 2:25 p.m., but Goodyear officers remained in the area.
