PHOENIX - A former teacher's aide at a Goodyear elementary school has been sentenced to a year in jail in a child pornography case.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 22-year-old Christopher Perez also was sentenced Monday to lifetime probation with sex offender terms.
Perez was arrested in February 2011 after Phoenix police say they found images of child pornography on his personal computer at his west Phoenix home.
Investigators had tracked Perez' IP address after discovering in January 2011 that several video and image files of child pornography had been downloaded to it.
Officers say they found at least 10 images depicting minors under 15 engaged in various sex acts with adults and other minors on Perez's personal laptop.
Police say Perez admitted to searching for and downloading the images.
