GOODYEAR, AZ - Authorities say a Goodyear woman has died after allegedly being beaten by her husband.
Goodyear police say 61-year-old Regina Heath was rushed to a Phoenix hospital on Feb. 6 after officers were called to her home for a medical emergency.
Police say she was reported to be in extremely critical condition at a hospital and died Tuesday evening.
They say 68-year-old Melvin Eugene Heath was arrested and booked into a Maricopa County jail on suspicion of aggravated assault resulting in serious physical injury.
Police say he has been released on bail but remains the subject of an ongoing investigation.
They didn't immediately know Thursday if Melvin Heath has a lawyer.
