GLENDALE, AZ - Authorities say a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in the West Valley Tuesday night.
Maricopa County Sheriff's spokesman Chris Hegstrom said the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. near Dysart and Bethany Home roads.
Hegstrom said the 45-year-old motorcyclist was traveling south on Dysart Road when he clipped the back of a vehicle.
The motorcyclist lost control and hit another car and was thrown off the bike. The motorcycle then caught fire.
The rider was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix where he died.
Dysart Road was closed until approximately 11:30 p.m. between Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue for the investigation.
