WADDELL, AZ - The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help finding the person responsible for seriously injuring a man walking in the West Valley.
Detective Forrest Wright said the accident happened Monday at around 8:30 p.m. near 181st and Glendale avenues.
Wright said a white male was walking eastbound on Glendale Avenue when he was struck in the roadway by a vehicle.
The vehicle slowed nearly to a stop after hitting the man and then sped away. Officials said it was last seen traveling eastbound on Glendale Avenue. Witnesses at the scene told authorities the suspect vehicle was white or light in color.
The suspect's car is described as possibly a light colored F350, F450, or F550 or similar type truck. The vehicle will likely have damage to the right front corner near the bumper and headlamp area.
Witnesses said the truck had a rack in the back with aftermarket lights attached. The vehicle is also thought to have vertical louvers around the rear windshield.
MCSO provided pictures of a vehicle similar (see above) to the vehicle described by witnesses but not the actual suspect vehicle.
Anyone with with information should contact the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office at 602-876-1011 and reference report #12-149620.
