GLENDALE, AZ - A 44-year-old man has passed away after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck yesterday afternoon in Glendale, Ariz.
Roger Epperhart suffered substantial injuries after his motorcycle crashed into the back of a pickup truck near 59th and Glendale Avenues and passed away Sunday morning, according to Officer Tracey Breeden, Glendale Police Department.
Police say a pickup truck driven by an adult male had turned right from State Avenue northbound onto 59th Avenue.
As the truck was moving into the center lane a motorcyclist approaching at a high rate of speed collided with the rear of the pickup truck.
The adult male motorcyclist was thrown from the bike, sustaining life-threatening injuries, according to police. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
Police said that it appears impairment and speed on the part of the motorcyclist were factors in the crash.
59th Avenue was closed for almost five hours for the investigation.
