GLENDALE, AZ - A 27-year-old man is hospitalized in life-threatening condition after he was shot at a party in Glendale overnight.
Glendale police Officer Tracey Breeden said officers responded to a home near 51st and Olive avenues around 1:30 p.m. for a call of shots fired.
The caller reported that an adult male was firing a gun at the residence.
When officers arrived they found the 27-year-old male injured by gunfire.
He was treated by fire personnel at the scene and taken to a local hospital.
According to Breeden, an argument had taken place between individuals at the home during a party.
The 27-year-old was asked to leave but returned a short time later with a rifle and began firing off rounds outside the home near people at the party.
Breeden said investigators learned that at some point the 27-year-old male pointed the rifle at partygoers and a 39-year-old man displayed a handgun and shot the younger man.
The 39-year-old remained at the scene and has been cooperative with detectives, Breeden said. He was questioned and released.
Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
Police did not release the names of either man.
