A Glendale woman accused of murdering her daughter is set to appear before a judge Monday morning.

Investigators say Jerice Hunter killed her daughter and disposed of the 5-year-old's body in the trash.

Jhessye Shockley was reported missing October 11, 2011 and few clues were found during a frantic search for the girl.

After months of searching a landfill , Glendale detectives were unable to find the child's body and later arrested Hunter and charged her with murder and child abuse.

Hunter is scheduled to appear in court for her arraignment at 8:30 a.m. in superior court in downtown Phoenix.

Hunter's attorney, Scott Maasen, told ABC15 he believes his client is innocent and that she will plead not guilty.
