GLENDALE, AZ - A funeral is scheduled in Peoria for a Glendale police officer who was fatally shot last weekend.
Services for 26-year-old Brad Jones will be 10 a.m. Friday at Christ's Church of the Valley. His burial will follow at the Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary.
Police and family members say all memorials will be open to the public.
Jones was shot early Saturday after he responded to back up a probation officer meeting with a 20-year-old man at a Glendale apartment complex.
Authorities say Ryan Heisler allegedly pulled out a gun and began firing, striking Jones before fleeing in the police officer's vehicle.
Jones died hours later at a hospital.
Heisler was shot by other officers and remained in critical condition Tuesday at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix.
