GLENDALE, AZ - Starting this preseason, Cardinals' fans will only be allowed to carry NFL approved bags into the University of Phoenix Stadium.
Fans can either bring a regular size gallon plastic bag from home or purchase one at the stadium.
Mother of two, Jennifer Espinoza says the new policy is a hassle.
“I carry a lot,” said Espinoza. “I carry diapers, sippy cups and all kinds of stuff. It’s a huge inconvenience.”
Officials are also allowing small clutch bags no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” in size in the stadium, along with one of the clear bag options.
Every NFL team is adopting the new policy that goes into effect this Saturday.
The NFL says the ban was created to increase security at stadiums, following the Boston Marathon bombings.
According to the Cardinals’ website prohibited items include: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, seat cushions with pockets, computer bags and camera bags.
