GLENDALE, AZ - Luke Air Force Base officials say civilian employees at the base are expected to be paid on time Friday despite the government shutdown.
Civilians who were exceptions from the furlough will be paid for all days worked in the Sept. 22 - Oct. 5 pay period.
Those who were furloughed will be paid for days worked between Sept. 22 and Sept. 30.
Base officials say furloughed employees will not be paid at this time for the days during that pay period they were furloughed.
They may eventually be paid for those days via legislation that was passed by the U.S. House over the weekend and is currently being considered by the Senate.
The fighter pilot training base is Glendale's largest public employer.
