EL MIRAGE, Ariz. - Police have arrested three young suspects after an El Mirage elementary school was vandalized during the Christmas break.

According to a police report, the elementary students, ages 10, 11, and 12, were arrested for burglary and criminal damage.

Police said Thompson Ranch Elementary School was closed for Christmas break when the three suspects allegedly went into the school through an unlocked door and took cans of paint they found and painted the walls, carpet and furniture.

Police said the suspects also broke electronic equipment, vending machines and office equipment, causing in excess of $30,000 in damage.

The suspects were arrested January 10.
