BUCKEYE, AZ - A deadly crash shut down westbound Interstate 10 in the Buckeye area Tuesday.
Officer Carrick Cook with the Arizona Department of Public Safety said one person involved in the crash was pronounced dead.
Air15 video showed a damaged vehicle on its side in a dirt area next to the roadway. ADOT said a commercial truck jackknifed and is blocking the westbound lanes of I-10 near Miller Road.
The cause of the wreck is unclear at this time.
The freeway at Watson Road was closed for hours while crews investigated. ADOT officials said that portion of the freeway was reopened around 6:25 p.m.
Eastbound I-10 at Miller Road was also shut down due to a separate crash. Those lanes were reopened around 7:50 p.m.
