BUCKEYE, AZ - Police say a single vehicle crash in Buckeye led officers to a home with two dead people inside Sunday morning.
According to Buckeye police spokesman Jared Griffith, the crash happened around 7:45 a.m. near Rainbow Road and Hilton Avenue.
The driver was extricated when the car crashed into a wall, Griffin said. He is reportedly expected to survive.
Police went to notify family about the crash and found the two dead people inside an apartment, he said.
The apartment is located near Baseline Road and Maricopa 85.
The vehicle in the crash was registered to the two deceased people at the apartment, police said.
When officers arrived, the door to the apartment was wide open and blood was found outside, police said.
Police have not released the link between the events but are calling it a double homicide.
