BUCKEYE, AZ - The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning deadly shooting at a house party near Buckeye.
According to MCSO spokesperson Joaquin Enriquez, three people have been detained after a 22-year-old female was shot to death around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Enriquez said there was an altercation at a residence near 203rd Avenue and Ray Road and guns were pulled.
Two men at the party had an argument outside when the female went outside with a shotgun. Enriquez said she reportedly ran towards one of the men and he had a gun and shot her.
The woman died of a gunshot wound.
It appears everyone involved is friends, Enriquez said.
The shooting is still under investigation.
