Three men are in custody Thursday morning after leading authorities on a high-speed chase west of Phoenix.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s spokesperson Raul Garcia said, the pursuit started at milepost 120 along State Route 85 when a highway patrol officer attempted to stop the vehicle for criminal speeds and driving with suspended registration.
Garcia said MCSO assisted the Department of Public Safety by deploying stop sticks and successfully deflating two of the tires of the vehicle.
Authorities took the suspects into custody after their car came to a stop near Hazen Road and SR-85 southwest of Buckeye.
Officials located 200 pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle.
According to Garcia, two of the suspects appear to be Mexican nationals. The driver of the vehicle is a U.S. citizen.
The identities of the men are not being released at this time.
