Buckeye police find missing 61-year-old Craig Newman in desert

BUCKEYE, AZ - The Buckeye Police Department has found a missing 61-year-old who went missing in the desert area north of Buckeye Friday.

Buckeye police say Newman was found alive in the desert area where he went missing.

Police say 61-year-old Craig Newman was going to meet up with friends in the desert north of Buckeye near the Buckeye/Surprise border on Friday, but he never showed up.

Friends and family did a quick search for Newman, and were able to find his all-terrain vehicle against a tree and with the engine was still running.

The Buckeye Police Department along with MCSO and Phoenix Police used several air units north of Buckeye to search for the missing 61-year-old.

There is no word on the condition of Newman at this time.
