BUCKEYE, AZ - Authorities say a 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg while riding all-terrain vehicles with his father in the west Valley Saturday.
They were riding in a desert area near Interstate 10 and Watson Road around 11 a.m. when they heard gunshots, according to Jeff Sprong with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
Sprong said the boy complained of leg pain and when his father checked on him they found the boy had been shot.
The boy's father drove him to a west Valley hospital where he was treated and released, officials said.
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office at 602-876-1011.
