AVONDALE, AZ - Police are investigating after a man driving in Avondale was shot early Sunday morning in an apparent drive-by shooting.
According to police, Juan Carlos Felix was killed when he and another person were driving near the intersection of 107th Avenue and Maricopa Road around 2:45 a.m.
Reuben Gonzales, of the Avondale Police Department, said that police received a 911 call reporting that a person had been shot while driving his vehicle and had stopped just north of the intersection.
A passenger in the vehicle reportedly told investigators that a vehicle was following them and began shooting at the vehicle, striking Felix.
Felix was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police are looking for anyone who might have more information regarding this case.
