AVONDALE, AZ - Avondale police are investigating after a man was found shot in the head Wednesday night.
Authorities say the shooting happened around 7:50 p.m. near Dysart Road and Rancho Santa Fe Boulevard.
Fire officials told ABC15 people in the area discovered the man in his vehicle, pulled him out and called 911.
Police department spokesman Brandon Busse said the shooting does not appear to be self-inflicted and police are treating the incident as an aggravated assault.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Busse said no one in the area saw the shooting so there is no suspect description at this time.
