AVONDALE, AZ - Avondale police said a man was shot early Sunday morning oustide his car, but they are not calling it road rage.
According to Detective Reuben Gonzales, the shooting happened just before 3 a.m. at 107th Avenue near Buckeye Rd.
Gonzales said the shooting victim was taken to a Valley hospital in critical condition. A passenger was uninjured.
Police don't know the circumstances that led to the shooting but believe it may have stemmed from an argument earlier in the day. They also say the victim may have known the shooter, who is still on the loose.
There is no word on a description of the shooter's car.
107th Avenue was closed all morning but reopened around noon.
