AVONDALE, AZ - An Avondale man received minor burns when his garage caught fire and spread to his home Saturday.
Avondale fire Deputy Chief Ron Deadman said the resident plugged his motorcycle in to charge in the garage and went inside the home near 111th Avenue and Ashland Way.
The man was alerted to the fire by a neighbor and when firefighters arrived the garage was fully involved with flames.
Deadman said the fire spread to the attic and extensive overhaul of the home will need to be done.
He said the resident will not be able to stay at the home due to the amount of damage.
The resident received a minor burn to his arm but refused transport to the hospital for treatment.
