TEMPE, AZ - The country’s second “Walmart on Campus” will open Wednesday at Arizona State University’s Tempe campus.
The new location functions as a convenience store and offers ASU students and faculty easier access to Wal-Mart’s “everyday low prices,” according to a press release.
Unlike typical Walmart locations, the Walmart on Campus will employ just 10 associates.
Located in the Vista del Sol plaza off Apache Boulevard, the store will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays and until 6 p.m. on Sundays.
The location will include a pharmacy with Wal-Mart’s signature $4 prescription program.
“The new Walmart on Campus is going to be a wonderful amenity for the students of ASU,” said Mary Ann Miller, president and CEO of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce.
She added that the new location “will add to the convenience of living on or next to campus.”
