TEMPE, AZ - Police have identified a woman who is facing charges of manslaughter and DUI after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Tempe.
Tempe police say Veronica Muckerman, 32, was driving westbound on Broadway Road at Rural Road Tuesday around 6 p.m. when she made a left turn, failing to yield to a motorcycle traveling eastbound.
The motorcyclist, 21-year-old Elsa Tovar, was taken to a Valley hospital where she died from her injuries.
Police say Muckerman, who had her 9- and 12-year-old daughters in the vehicle with her, showed signs of alcohol impairment.
The girls were not injured.
Police booked Muckerman into the Tempe City jail on one count of manslaughter and three counts of aggravated DUI.
