TEMPE, AZ - Tempe police released a sketch of the suspect accused of killing a woman during a robbery.
Kyleigh Sousa, 21, was walking with a friend to the International House of Pancakes in Tempe at about 2 a.m. on May 26, when they were approached by a newer model silver Chrysler 300 driven by a heavyset Hispanic male in the 200 block of East Apache Boulevard, according to police.
While speaking with Sousa, the suspect allegedly grabbed Sousa’s purse.
Police said Sousa became entangled in her purse straps and was dragged for a distance by the vehicle as the suspect fled the scene.
Kyleigh was critically injured and later died from her injuries.
Investigators reportedly believe that there were others in the vehicle at the time of the incident. We are asking those individuals and anyone else with any information to come forward.
