TEMPE, AZ - Tempe police have a warning for parents after a man reportedly exposed himself to a young girl walking to school last Thursday.
The incident happened near Elliot and Rural roads around 8:20 in the morning.
Police said the victim was an 8th grade girl who was walking to school when an adult male pulled up in his vehicle and pulled down his pants, exposing himself to her.
He then drove off without touching or harming the victim.
Police have only a vague description of the suspect as a white or Hispanic male in his 30s driving a small tan or gray four-door car. He was wearing sunglasses, had short black hair and a medium build, and was talking or pretending to talk on a cell phone just before exposing himself.
Kyrene School District officials said they notified parents and hope that getting the word out will help get the suspect caught.
Detectives do not believe this suspect description fits any previous incidents reported in Tempe and are working with other law enforcement agencies to see if the suspect is a known offender in another location.
