TEMPE, AZ - Authorities say a 24-year-old Tempe man is in custody in connection with 17 home burglaries in the city since last month.
Tempe police announced Wednesday that 24-year-old Michael Tolley is being held on suspicion of 17 counts of burglary, two counts of criminal trespass, 10 counts of trafficking in stolen property, one count of felony arson and one count of misdemeanor arson.
Police say the burglaries occurred between Sept. 16 and Monday. They say most of the burglaries were within a one-mile radius of the suspect's home.
Authorities say the suspect allegedly hopped fences and entered homes through unlocked doors between midnight and 4 a.m.
Police say Tolley allegedly stole laptops, cell phones and several purses during the burglaries and sold them online or on the street for quick cash.
