TEMPE, AZ - A Tempe police officer is recovering in the hospital after a taxi cab crashed into his motorcycle overnight.
Lieutenant Glover of the Tempe Police Department said a police officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a taxi cab made an illegal U-turn at University Drive and Rural Road crashing into his motorcycle overnight.
Police said the officer was thrown over his handlebars upon impact and was transported to Scottsdale Osborn Trauma Center with serious injuries. He is expected to be OK.
Police said impairment does not seem to be a factor, but citations are pending.
