TEMPE, Az - Tempe police are still working to identify a woman after her naked body was found in the street Saturday morning.
Tempe Police Department spokesman Sgt. Mike Pooley said police received a call from someone heading to work around 4:30 a.m. that the body of a female was on Minton Drive near McClintock Drive and Baseline Road.
On Monday night, police provided a new description and composite sketch of the woman.
Pooley said the victim appears to be Native American or Hispanic, 15-19 years old, 4 feet, 10 inches to 5 feet tall, 110-120 pounds with short brown/auburn colored hair.
She has a scar on the outside of her wrist, a surgical type scar on her throat, braces and was wearing turquoise studded earrings and has a studded nose ring.
Police said the victim showed clear signs of physical abuse with "trauma" all over her body. The death is being investigated as a homicide.
Neighbors in the area told ABC15 they are shocked and devastated by the situation.
Police were unable to identify the victim using fingerprints so have released a sketch hoping someone will come forward with information.
Authorities have not identified a suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tempe police.
