TEMPE, AZ - Police say alcohol was a factor in a serious crash Wednesday morning near Arizona State University in Tempe.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Apache Boulevard near College Avenue, said spokeswoman Molly Enright with the Tempe Police Department.
Apache Boulevard was closed between College and Forest avenues for several hours.
A pickup truck and sedan were both traveling eastbound on Apache Boulevard when it happened.
Three people were transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition but are expected to survive.
Tempe Vehicular Crimes Officers are investigating the crash, Enright said.
No ASU students were involved.
