TEMPE, AZ - Police arrested two men and are searching for more suspects after a home invasion in Tempe Sunday.
According to Tempe police, around 4:20 p.m. a neighbor reported that a nearby home was being robbed.
When officers arrived, the suspects tried to flee in an SUV but ended up crashing into the mobile home located in a community near Priest Drive and U.S. 60.
"As they pulled away when officers arrived they lost control of their vehicle and ended up crashing into the same trailer they broke into," Tempe Sgt. Katherine Click said.
Police said the suspects fled on foot, but one was caught quickly and the other was taken into custody a short time later. The men were reportedly armed with rifles.
A search continues for more suspects.
Mesa police aided in the search with their helicopter and Phoenix police assisted with K9 units.
Police say no one was home at the time of the robbery and no one was injured.
Investigators are trying to determine why the suspects chose to break in to the mobile home they did. They are not sure if the crime was random.
