TEMPE, AZ - One man was injured after a road rage incident in Tempe Monday morning.

Tempe police said two men began to argue from their separate vehicles about cutting each other off near Kyrene Road and Baseline Road.

The drivers pulled over and exited their vehicles in the area of Interstate 10 and Baseline Road, engaging in a physical confrontation.

Police said one driver then attempted to leave the scene, clipping the driver of the other vehicle.

Police said that firefighters responded and the man was left with minor scrapes, but was not transported to a hospital.

The driver who fled the scene may be charged with potential aggravated assault charges once he is located by police.

"In a situation such as this, don't confront another driver. Call the police - let us deal with it,” said Tempe Patrol Sergeant Randy Wilson in a news release. “In particular, don't exit your vehicle or engage in an argument on a busy roadway.  Escalating the situation only creates the potential for violence with someone ending up hurt."
