TEMPE, AZ - A motorcyclist has died following an accident Monday afternoon on the Northbound Loop 101 at US 60.

According to DPS, the motorcyclist slammed into the back of an SUV after it had slowed down.

The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from his bike, where he was thrown into the next lane.

A passing truck hit the motorcyclist and he was dragged under truck, according to officials.

Air15 showed traffic down to one lane on Northbound 101 as crews worked to clear the scene. Footage showed the back-up stretching as far as Ray Road.
