TEMPE, AZ - An investigation is underway after a home in Tempe was destroyed by fire.
Tempe fire spokesman Mike Reichling said the house near Southern Avenue and Price Road is a complete loss.
Reichling said three people lived in what appeared to be a "hoarding" situation. He said the home was full of boxes, debris and collectibles piled up, making fighting the fire more difficult for crews.
Reichling said due to the increase in hoarding situations, firefighters are getting new training to deal with these types of fires.
A plume of white smoke from the fire could be seen across the east Valley.
There is no word yet on what sparked the blaze.
