TEMPE, AZ - Police have made an arrest in a fatal hit and run accident that occurred in Tempe last weekend.
Authorities say Cody Ryan Davis, 22, was arrested on Saturday in Mesa around 11 a.m.
Tempe police say Davis has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident in the death of Bradley Jason Scott, 32, who was struck and killed at Southern Avenue and Rural Road around midnight last Saturday.
Police say video shows Scott was legally riding a bicycle with the flow of traffic at the time he was struck and killed.
According to a Saturday news release, Valley officers have been on the lookout for the suspect vehicle for the past week. Detectives have been checking Valley auto body shops, restaurants, bars and businesses in an ever-widening radius surrounding the intersection where the crash occurred.
Police say numerous tips were called in to police regarding possible vehicles and one of those tips led Tempe investigators to the suspect vehicle and eventually Davis.
He was taken into custody without incident and police say he made admissions related to the incident.
The investigation remains open, according to police.
