TEMPE, AZ - Arizona may be a desert, but just a few minutes from anywhere in the Valley you can get a taste of life on the water.
Tempe Town Lake shimmers in the shadow of the grand Mill Avenue bridge on the border of the Arizona State University campus.
"It's a little kind of a desert oasis here, a lake right in the middle of the city," said Alex from Tempe Boat Rentals.
Water lovers can be found enjoying time on the lake in a sailboat, a paddle boat, rowing, kayaking, paddle boarding or even trying out a hydrobike.
So instead of a drive of an hour or two to a local lake, just jump in the car for a quick trip to Tempe Town Lake for a relaxing day on the water.
