TEMPE, AZ - Police say a 13-year-old girl was injured when a car plowed into a nail salon Wednesday night.
The incident happened at around 5 p.m. at Nancy's Nails near Mill Avenue and Broadway Road in Tempe.
Tempe Fire Department spokesman Jim Schmidt said the car went through the front of the salon, through a window and a short brick wall.
Authorities said a 74-year-old woman was driving the car. Schmidt said the woman suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.
The 13-year-old girl, who was inside the salon, suffered significant, but non life-threatening injuries.
Police said the accident happened when the woman hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes when she was trying to park.
