SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ - Authorities cleared the scene of a serious crash in front of a San Tan Valley high school Wednesday morning.

According to spokesman Elias Johnson with the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened around 7:30 a.m. in front of Poston Butte High School on Gantzel Road north of Bella Vista Road.

A girl between the ages of 15 and 17 years old was flown to a hospital with extensive injuries, Johnson said.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
