MESA, AZ - A AAA Taxi driver was assaulted by two men early Wednesday morning after being called to the area of 601 S. Alma School Road to pick up a fare.
According to the Mesa Police Department, the driver was contacted in the north parking lot by two men in their 20's around 4:40 a.m.
The two men entered the taxi and began punching the driver in the face several times.
They continued to forcefully take the man's wallet from his pocket and fled on foot over the wall to the south in the alley.
The driver reportedly sustained minor injuries during the assault and lost sight of the suspects after they fled.
Mesa Police say the victim will assist in prosecution of the aggravated robbery once the suspects are found.
