MESA, AZ - Police have identified a murder victim who was found Thursday at a Mesa apartment complex.
Authorities found 35-year-old Abraham Attili dead inside a downstairs unit at the Covina Court Apartments near University Drive and Gilbert Road.
On Thursday, an officer investigating a report that someone was injured at the apartment, found blood on the sidewalk and the door ajar.
Police found Attili inside. It's unclear whether there was a break-in, or if the door was just left open.
It took until early Friday morning before police were able to secure a search warrant to get inside and begin their investigation.
Detective Steve Berry told ABC15 that Attili did not live at the apartment complex and was a transient.
A suspect has not been identified at this time, Berry said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mesa Police Department or call Silent Witness.
