MESA, AZ - Police have identified a man who died after falling from the top of a Mesa parking garage on Sunday .

Sgt. Steve Berry on Tuesday said police have contacted the family of 30-year-old Dustin S. Burton, a Mesa resident.

Burton died late Sunday after he was forced to fall from a parking garage near Center and Main streets.

Witnesses said Burton and 20-year-old Roderick Deshan Wagoner were chasing each other on the third story of the garage around 8 p.m. Sunday.

At one point, Burton reportedly ended up hanging by his hands over the outside of the garage wall.

Police said Wagoner poked and hit the victim until he lost his grip and fell more than 30 feet onto the hard asphalt below.

Burton was taken to the hospital, unconscious and in critical condition. Police told ABC15 that he passed away later that night.

It's not known what the two were fighting about, but police believe the two men know each other.
